HANDBALL

Q1. What is Hand Ball and what is the team composition?
Similar to Football, but played with hands only in a smaller field with a team comprising of 6 players + 1 goal keeper that is 7 players in all. Passing through hands the goal has to be scored. Played by both men & women.
Q2. What is the field size?
40 mtrs x 20 mtrs.
Q3. How the game of Hand Ball is played?
The goal posts are surrounded by a near semicircular line within the playing field, called the "D", that is generally 6 mtrs from the goal line. Only the defending goal keeper is allowed to step & move inside the 6 mtr perimeter mark, though any player may attempt to touch and catch the ball in the air within it. If a player should find himself in contact inside the goal perimeter, he must immediately take the most direct path out of it. Should a defender make contact with an attacker, while in the goal perimeter, their team is penalized with a direct attempt at the goal, by the attacking teams, like a penalty in football, with only the goalkeeper to defend. The spot to take the direct attempt is fixed at 7 mtr. The ball can be held only for 3 seconds and a player is allowed to take only 3 steps with the ball in hand. Duration of the game is 60 minutes divided into two halves of 30 minutes each with a break of 15 Minutes.
