SAI: Sports Authority of India - established in 1984, headquartered at Delhi. Has six regional centers at Bangalore, Gandhi Nagar, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Bhopal and Imphal. It also operates a "High Altitude Training Centre: at Shilaroo in Himachal Pradesh. Nethaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Patiala and Lakshmibhai National College of Physical Education, Tiruvananthapuram, Kerala are part of this institution.
There is also another Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education at Gwalior established in 1957 and now a Deemed University from 1995, imparting Bachelor and Master level training courses for physical education instructors of Academic institutions and Army personnel. Includes students from abroad.

Bengaluru at the Chinnasamy Stadium, established in 2000 for training cricketers on various aspects of crickets and fitness.
