PADMA VIBHUSHAN: First of the three "Padma" awards and second highest civilian award of our country. A circular burnished bronze medal with a lotus flower at the centre and Padma Vibhushan inscribed in Devnagari script, attached to a medium pink ribbon. As of 2016, 294 persons have been honoured with this award.
PADMA BHUSHAN: Second in the "Padma" Awards and 3rd in line of the civilian awards. Similar to the Padma Vibhushan medal, with Padma Bhushan inscribed in Devnagari script attached to a medium pink ribbon with a vertical grey dividing line at the centre. So far up to 2011, 1111 persons have been awarded with this honour.
PADMA SHRI : Comes third in the "Padma" awards and 4th in line of the civilian awards. NATIONAL FILM AWARDS:
" Instituted in 1954, it has been administered, along with the International Film Festival of India and the Indian Panorama, by the Indian government's Directorate of Film Festivals (Ministry of Information & Broadcasting) since 1973. Annually, a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry, and the award ceremony is held in New Delhi, where the President of India presents the awards. It is considered the Indian equivalent of the American Academy Awards. Enrico Fermi was an Italian American Physicist, noted for his work on the Development of the first nuclear reactor. He won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1938 for "induced radio activity".
27. GIBBS BROTHERS MEDAL: Awarded by the US National Academy of Sciences for outstanding contribution in the field of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. William Francis Gibbs and Frederick H. 6. ASTRID LIDGREN MEMORIAL AWARD: World's largest children and youth literature award, instituted by the Government of Sweden and administered by the Swedish Arts Council and Carries a prize money of 5 million Swedish Krona. Astrid Lidgren was a Swedish Children book author.
7. HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSON AWARD: Also called "Little Nobel Prize". An international award given biennially by the International Board on Books for young people, in recognition of lasting contribution to children literature. 8. CPJ INTERNATIONAL PRESS FREEDOM AWARD: Awarded to Journalists around the world to honour their courage in Defending "Press Freedom" in the face of adverse conditions. Yusuf Jameel - correspondent of Asian Age and Deccan chronicle and other foreign news papers received this award in 1996 for his reporting on Kashmir on adverse conditions.

The award is for any English novel by any woman write of any country selected by a team of authors and journalists. The award carries a prize money of 30000 pounds, and a bronze statuette called "Bessie". It is awarded from 1996. Tea Obreht of UK was the receipient of this award for 2011 for her novel "The Tiger's Wife".
10.COSTA BOOK AWARDS: From 1971, this award is given to authors of UK and Ireland (not necessarily to be citizen, but should have been a resident Atleast 6 months preceeding the award). This is the most prestigious cinematic award sponsored by Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science (AMPA) - a professional and Honorary Organization, founded on 11th January 1927. The winners in various categories of film making are awarded with a statuette called ""Oscar"". It was designed by Cedric Gildons, a member of the academy, sculpted in clay by George Stanley an art school student and finally cast in tin and copper and gold plated. Legend has it that the Academy Librarian, Margaret Herick, chanced to remark, on studying the statue, that it looked like his uncle Oscar, and thus the name got stuck. It was actually designed on a table cloth in a hotel dining table at New York, within 5 minutes, in 1929.
The height is 13.5 inches / 34 cms, weighs about 8.516/3.85 kg depicting a knight holding a sword, representing actors, writers, directors, producers and technicians.
The first film to get this award was in 1928 - ""Wings"" a black and white film and the first color film to receive this award was "Gone with the Wind" in 1939.
