Solankis are also called as Chalukyas. They ruled Gujarat and Kathiawar regions (Western part of India) between 950 to 1300 AD. Capital was Anahilapataka (Patan in Gujarat)

MULARAJA I - (between 960 to 997 )though ruled for 25 years, they were eventful years with defeats and invasions from Paramaraja's Munja, Kalachuri Lakshmana.

BHIMA I (1021 to 1063) - before him there were couple of insignificant rulers. His tenure was an important one in the Indian history in that Ghazni Mohammad invasion of 17 times of Somnath Temple and looting of its treasures took place during his period. Architecturally also his regin was important as the famous Dilwara Temple at Mount Abu, Rajasthan was built during his period. He abdicated his throne to his son Karna.
KARNA (1063 - 1093) - Ruled for 30 years without substantial gains. He built numerous temples and founded a city after his name, now represented by Ahmedabad.
JAYASINH SIDDHARAJA (1093 -1143) - Succeeded Karna. He made some extensions to his kingdom by winning over Paramaras, Chahamanas of Sakhambari, Chandella Kingdom, and also Chalukya Vikramaaditya VI of Kalyani. He was a great scholar. Hemachandra a great poet who wrote the grammar book "Siddha Hemachandra" was in his court. He constructed a lot of temples, the notable being "Rudra Mahakala" at Siddhapur.
KUMARAPALA (1143-1173) Succeeded JayasinhDuring his tenure, his activities were more towards Jainism.
MULARAJA II (1173+) During his tenure Md. Ghori invaded Gujarat in 1178 AD, but was successfully resisted by the Solankis. However, the Solankis suffered heavily at the hands of Turkish Qutb-ud-din who plundered Gujarat and the Capital Anahilapataka in 1197 AD.
BHIMA II (later 12th century to 1242) - He concentrated on protecting and retaining the existing territory rather than on extensions and annexations.Later ruler Tribuvanpal (1242-44) was weak and insignificant. By this time Alauddin Khilji successfully captured Gujarat.
