KACHHAVAHAS - RAJASTHAN

Q1. Who were Kachhavahas and they ruled which part of India?
They were rulers of Amber, later known as Jaipur state. They were believed to belong to the Solar dynasty (Suryavamsa) and traced their descent from Lord Ram. Although they existed even earlier, their presence came to be felt from KAKIL DEVA who captured the fort Amber in 1037 from the Minas and made it his capital. It was under the suzerainty of Mewar but acquired political importance only in the 14th century. However, the state gained more importance and prominence during the Mughal period when their rulers Bharamal, his son Bhagwandas and grandson Man Singh, sided with Akbar and other Mughal emperors, which indirectly helped the consolidation of the Mughal empire.
